A different chimney sweep had wrecked my damper.  It became unhinged and was hanging down.  After complaining, I finally got a visit from the owner who came by to look.  Apparently, I wasn’t using it right.  Disappointed, I called Able Wood and Gas.  We talked for 20 mins and I sent him pictures.  Sid came by and fixed it.  I’ll only use Able Wood and Gas in the future.

I was only able to use my woodstove for a few months before the cap got plugged.  I was getting my stove cleaned 2 or 3 times a year.  I tried a few different sweeps for cleanings and tried different caps.  A coworker of mine recommended Sid.  Sid explained that I wasn’t letting the chimney get hot enough before I choked down the air.  All those caps and extra cleanings was money wasted.  I wish I would have called Sid right from the start.

Our water heater was leaking and needed replacement.  Our plumber found leaves in the chimney and recommended Sid from Able Wood and Gas to check it out.  He came by later that day and told us our chimney liner was rotted and needed replacement.  He cleaned out the chimney and started up the water heater.  He came back 2 or 3 days later and installed a new liner with a bird proof cap on top. A+ service.  No wonder our plumber recommended him.

Our woodstove stopped working during a cold snap.  We were concerned that we couldn’t use the back room until the snow had melted off the roof.  We called Able Wood and Gas and talked to Sid.  After some questions and sharing some photos, Sid assured us the roof was no problem.  Sid later came by and cleaned our chimney and talked to us about the way we use the stove.  He explained that we had a chimney fire and gave us tips on how to use the stove properly and safely.

He put the babies in a box in the corner of the yard where we sat and watched the mother come back and get them one by one.  The new cover he installed was guaranteed for life.  We will use Able Wood and Gas for all our future chimneys cleanings and for future repairs too.
